INTACRED handles applications for businesses, non-profits and individuals through its Nairobi team. You can begin online from Kenya, Nigeria or another African country. The initial form collects your details; supporting documents are returned in your application email thread.
1. Provide your applicant details
Complete the application form with your official full name, email, telephone number, country, organisation where applicable, membership category and reason for requesting a review. Use an email account you can access throughout the process.
Explain the actual purpose of your request, such as business compliance, professional activity or a funding requirement. A grant reference is relevant only when your stated reason relates to a grant. If you first contacted INTACRED by email, use that same email address on the form so the correspondence can be matched.
2. Complete the membership form and read your guide
After the initial details have been confirmed, INTACRED sends your fillable membership form and personalised application guide. Complete both pages, select the appropriate category, add a recent photograph and sign the declaration. Reopen the saved PDF to check that your entries were retained.
You may use a phone or computer. If your PDF viewer does not support filling the fields, use a compatible PDF reader or print the form and return a clear signed scan. Avoid sending an empty original instead of the completed copy.
3. Return supporting documents by email
Reply to the application email and attach the form, identity document, photograph and proof of residential or business address. Depending on your category and activity, include registration documents, tax compliance documentation, bank account confirmation, identification for responsible officers and a description of your business or project. A grant award letter is needed where applicable.
Keep all pages readable and explain any difference in names or addresses. If a document does not apply, say why. If the attachments exceed your email provider's size limit, send them in numbered parts in the same thread. If you cannot locate the form, reply and ask for another copy.
4. Completeness review and official invoice
The team checks the package and may request missing information. An invoice is issued after the entry requirements are met. Current category fees are USD200 for Individual, USD370 for Non-Profit and USD430 for Corporate.
Check your name, category, invoice number, amount and due date before paying. Follow the bank and beneficiary details on the invoice exactly. Where an indicative local-currency equivalent is shown, your bank determines its actual exchange rate and charges. Send the transfer confirmation in the same email thread; payment is verified against bank credit.
5. Compliance assessment and outcome
Assessment normally takes 24 to 48 working hours after complete documentation and verified payment. The time does not start merely when the initial form is submitted or a transfer receipt is emailed. Complex structures, cross-border entities and enhanced-risk reviews can require additional time.
The team assesses the relevant identity, legal existence, ownership, activity and AML/CTF information. It may ask further questions before deciding the outcome. Payment does not guarantee certification. A certificate does not guarantee funding, replace a statutory licence or remove a counterparty's own checks.
Common reasons an application needs clarification
- The applicant name differs between the form and identity document.
- The selected category does not match the entity requesting certification.
- The form is unsigned, incomplete or returned without the supporting files.
- A business name, address or ownership change has not been explained.
- A transfer receipt cannot yet be matched to credited funds.
